Welcome to the Destiny Church and Throne podcast. We pray this stirs you into a deeper relationship with Jesus and equips you to live a heaven-on-earth lifestyle daily. Enjoy. And I sort of hope this can stir you up and you know change some things in your life and help you uh to stay hungry for him and to keep, you know, feasting on him in your life. And I just believe too, it's funny because I love it, but yeah, it's just you know what's what's our spiritual diet? What's our spiritual diet look like? You know, and it's something that's very important uh in our walk with him and to help us, you know, what does our spiritual diet look like? And um and yeah, we're just gonna dive into this. But uh it's pretty amazing. It's just a testimony with these two people here up in the front. God, I asked if I can just to share a testimony. I'm thankful that they're here because it goes along with this teaching, along with this word. And uh God brought them to our house to deliver groceries from Walmart, and the Lord just wrecked them. They got out of their car to like bring them, and then God was like, Hey, share a word of encouragement with them, and he did, and they got wrecked, and it was amazing, it was beautiful, and then God just keeps uh bringing them into our life and just always encouraging to be there. And I'm thankful that y'all are here, and I pray that, like I said, worship me, and he's also pursuing y'all. But like I said, I pray that during worship, and if people prayed over y'all during this morning, I pray it can help y'all, encourage y'all, and just stay hungry. Come on. Come on, he's good. He's so good. Anyway, so thankful for that. That's it's an amazing thing that God can do that. Anyway, anyway, yeah, so once again, spiritual diet, helping us stay hungry for him. What do we intake in our life? Uh, I love this because so many, if you go to the gym a lot, and there may be some people that probably go to the gym a lot, come on. A lot of them would tell you this. People will tell you this, trainers will tell you this 20% gym, 80% plate. They will tell you that if you probably work out a lot, you probably heard that probably eventually one time in your life. 20% gym, 80% plate. And they say that for a reason, because they say that because you can go to the gym all you want, but if you're filling your plate up with nonsense things, you won't have any fruit from the gym. You won't have no fruit for the gym. If you're filling your plate up with the wrong type of food and you're intaking it daily with this wrong type of food, you won't see any fruit from the gym. And they say that for everything about that, 20% gym and 80% plate. Because I'm telling you, spiritually, what are you filling your plate up with? What does your plate look like spiritually on a daily basis? Pastor Johnny said at the best because I love when he said that. He's like, Why do we come to church? And he said, What are you doing out there? You can come to the gym here, but I'm telling you, what are you doing out there and filling your plate up as you leave this place? What is on your plate? That's going to be something you hear, but I'm telling you, I want that, I want that also to be something you keep asking yourself right now in your heart, what is my plate filled up with? Spiritually, what is my plate filled up with right now? What is it? And I'm telling you why, because we won't see any fruit from our relationship with Jesus if we're filling our plate up with nonsense things. If we're filling our plate up with whatever it could be, temptation, whatever it could be. You know, in Matthew chapter 4, it's when Jesus, you know, gets tempted by the enemy. Uh, it's when, you know, he's fasting, all those things. It's funny because literally, the it the dead the word of God says this Jesus became hungry. That's what the word of God says. He became hungry. And then right after it said he became hungry, it says the devil came to tempt him. I'm telling you, the enemy wants to tempt your hunger for Jesus. He wants to tempt you. That's what it's about. He didn't come when Jesus got baptized. This is the story. Before this fasting happened, Jesus got baptized and the heavens split open. The devil didn't come then. He came when Jesus became hungry. That is when he became, you know, he became to tempt Jesus when he became hungry. And once again, what happened? He tried to fill Jesus' plate up with something that wasn't the will of God at that moment. He tried to fill the plate of Jesus. He tried to fill his plate up with a bunch of nonsense things that wasn't the will of God. He sat there and kept telling them, oh, do this, do that, do this, do that, do that, do that, do this, do this, do this. He kept tempting him. And Jesus was over was able to overcome those temptations because he filled his plate up with the right things. He was able to overcome this temptation of the enemy and live a pure life. And not just that, goes on, talks about, you know, that's when his ministry kicked off, all these things. And literally he goes on and talks and goes on. Why? Because I believe Jesus was able to fill his plate up with the right things on a daily basis. He was able to intake what the Father had for him. Because what did he say? Man, man does not live on bread alone, but every word that comes out of the mouth of God, he filled his plate up with the word of God. Not this nonsense things the enemy was trying to tempt him with. He filled his plate up with the word of God, the voice of God, and probably the written word of God. He filled it up with that. I believe these, like I said, we need to fill our plate up with the right things. If not, we would not be able to withstand any temptation the enemy throws at us. We were constantly being a cycle of whatever it could be, addiction, whatever it could be, lies of the enemy, falling into temptation, whatever it could be, allowing our feelings to always overtake us, whatever it could be, not living a life of joy and peace. It would be hard to live like that if you're not filling your plate up with the right things. If your spiritual diet's horrible. So anyway, uh discipline is one of the things I do believe we need. And like I said, there's probably a bunch of other things that can help you, you know, fill your plate up with the right things. Uh probably a bunch of different things. But I just believe these things can help you, and I pray it does. Discipline is very, very important. Discipline is very, very important to what you're filling your plate up with. And you look at it again. Um, I'm just gonna read 2 Timothy 2, 3, uh, really 2, verse 3, 5, and 6. But I'm not gonna read them all, but it just talks about like we heard a lot of people heard these verses before. It says, Therefore you must endure hardship as a good soldier in Christ Jesus. Verse 5 talks about if you're an athlete and you compete in these athletic things and you know you gotta obey the rules, and it goes, and then verse 6 talks about a hardworking farmer, you know, is the one that partakes in his crops. I look at these things, I just I really skimmed there because I look, I love how it says soldier, an athlete, and a farmer. All three of those people live a life of discipline. It is very hard. You can probably ask a lot of those people, they live a life of discipline. They really do. An athlete, they there's so many athletes that would tell you there's you know, you can all over social media, you can read their life now about it. They post workout videos, all these things, literally, and they would talk about how their diet is extreme. They talk about what they feel they're played up with affects the way they play on the field. And the same thing as uh a farmer, you gotta be disciplined in what you do, you know, all these things. A soldier, you gotta be disciplined. I'm just saying this because discipline is very, very important to our spiritual diet and what we're in taking. So, anyway, one thing I love about discipline is uh, you know, if you start a diet, you know, whenever you start a diet, it's probably hard at the beginning, right? A lot of people will tell you that. If it was easy, you know, I'd be, I mean, we're gonna be real, right? Obesity wouldn't be bad in this area, you know, whatever, United States, Texas, whatever. It wouldn't be bad. If being on a diet was easy, it wouldn't be bad. It wouldn't be so high, seriously. And the thing is, it takes discipline. It takes discipline. And uh, so anyway, one thing about it, and when you start a new diet, people would tell you, man, it's hard. Why is it so hard to start a new diet? One of the main things. Why do you think it's so hard? Because lots of times the healthy foods for people, they don't like them. I mean, it's the truth, right? People rather eat pizza, fried chicken, chicken tenders, all these different things, McDonald's, McDouble, Taco Bell, you know, all these things, you know. People rather eat that thing that tastes good rather than you know eating, you know, this fruit or these, you know, these vegetables, you know what I mean? Rye, all these different things, right? It tastes better. See, one thing about discipline though, one thing about discipline. When you're disciplining a diet, your cravings change. You see what I'm saying? When you're disciplining a diet, your cravings start to change. So think so once again, that's what I love about this. Whatever Jesus, when the word of God in Matthew we're reading before, says Jesus became hungry. That word hungry doesn't just mean like, hey, I'm hungry, give me something. It means craving. So he was craving something. And Jesus disciplined himself. We know that. But I love it because, like I said, it's like reading the Bible. Maybe you're in here and you're like, man, I don't like reading the Bible. I mean, be real with yourself. Maybe you're like that. Maybe you're like, man, it's hard for me to read the Bible. Uh it's hard for me to pray. I don't, you know, I go in the room and it's hard for me just to pray. You know, it's hard for me just to go in there and just sit still and talk to God. Maybe you're like, man, it's hard for me to go and worship God. It's hard for me to, you know, praise Jesus. It's hard for me to do those things. And the reason why discipline helps is because discipline, like I said, just like the diet. The diet, the very beginning of your diet, you can be like, man, I hate these types of foods. I hate these types of foods that I'm supposed to be eating right now. But the more you you're disciplined yourself and you're like, I'm gonna stay course to this diet, your cravings start to change, and you literally, your cravings change, and you say, Man, I like start eating this food. This food tastes better than this other food. Literally. I mean, I mean, you know, you get what I'm saying right now. Do you understand this? And now, spiritually, you can be like, Man, I don't like prayer. It's hard for me to pray, it's hard for me to sit there, it's hard for me to read the Bible. I don't understand it. I don't know, it just seems boring to me. Be real with yourself, maybe. But once again, when you discipline yourself, your cravings start to change, and you start saying, Wow, I like to fill my plate up with the word of God now. I like to fill my plate up with praying now in the morning. I like to fill my plate up with worship now to Jesus. My cravings are changing. You just got to discipline yourself. I tell you why, because discipline is about consistency, not perfection. Do you see what I'm saying? Being disciplined is about being consistent, not being perfected. That's what that's what discipline's about. So if you be consistent with your intake spiritually in your diet with Jesus, you're eventually going to be consistent with it rather than like I haven't read the Bible in years. I haven't read the Bible in weeks, I haven't I haven't prayed in years, I haven't prayed in weeks. But when you're disciplined, you start you be more consistent with it. And one, like I said, you be more consistent with it, which would then lead to your cravings changing. So I want into I want to encourage you real quick with that. Discipline yourself with the Lord. Discipline yourself. Because I'm telling you, it's not about being uh perfected, it's about being consistent. It's about being, and that's what discipline's about. It's not about being perfect, it's about being consistent. And that's what we need sometimes with our spiritual diet, right? We need to be consistent. We need like me. I'll be honest with you, when I first got saved, I did not like reading the Bible. It was hard for me to really read the Word of God. It really was. It was super hard, but just more and more discipline, and you know, it became a lifestyle to me. And, you know, uh, then I started discovering things like, oh my God, like I needed, I love reading the Bible, I love filling my plate up now with this stuff. And it changed my life. And you know, you change who I am and you start seeing the fruit of your life. Like I said, you can go to that gym, 20% gym, 80% plate. If you don't fill your plate up, you're not gonna see the fruit of the gym. I'm telling you, if you don't fill your plate up, you're not gonna see the fruit of your relationship with Jesus. You're not, you're not gonna see great fruit. Uh as you come to this church, like I said, Pastor Johnny said it, you come here, but it's what are you doing out there? I'm telling you, that's what it's about. We can come here today. I pray this word could stir you up. I'm praying that, but I'm also praying you go fill your plate up right. Go fill your plate up with the word of God. Because like I said, the devil came to Jesus, and Jesus was able to say, My cravings have changed. He's like, My cravings are different than what you're trying to give me right now. I'm just craving the word of God. Anyway, discipline yourself. It's not about, and I guess it's not about being perfect, it's about being consistent. Be consistent in your spiritual diet with him. Intake the word of God, pray, worship, and you will start seeing a life in the fruit of Jesus in your life. Joy, peace, love. You start seeing these things happen in your life more often than not. Uh, the next thing I just encourage you with is being devoted and committed to a diet. What does that look like when you look, you know, in the natural, you know, being devoted to your diet, saying, like, I'm devoted, I'm committed to my diet this time, right? And I'm like, oh no, I start Monday. No, but anyway, you know, you're committed, you're devoted to your diet. What does that sometimes look like? That looks like a lot of things, but I love Proverbs 4.23. It says, guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life. I love that verse because that's what starts happening. And your diet, when you're committed to your diet physically, you know, you start guarding what goes on your plate. You start guarding, hey, I don't want that on my plate. That doesn't belong here. Why? Because you're like, man, I'm committed. You go out to eat with some people. You know, you go out to eat or something, you go to a potluck or something right at church. You're like, man, like, yeah, this temptation comes right. But what starts happening though, when you're devoted and committed to your diet, you start being more intentional and you literally start saying, Hey, I'm going to guard my plate. I'm only going to get what I know I need to intake right now. That's what starts happening spiritually. When you're devoted to Jesus, when you're devoted and you're committed your life to Jesus, you start guarding what goes on your plate. You start guarding these things, maybe nonsense things that start trying to fill your plate up and you start trying to intake lives of the enemy. Again, Jesus being tempted. It's one of the probably best examples for this thing right now. It's Matthew 4. The devil tried to come, like I said, to fill his plate up with temptation. But he was able to fill his plate up with the right things. And I do believe because why? He was devoted to the Father. He was committed to what the Father had for him. He was committed to the will of the Father. Even to the point when they said, Jesus, you didn't eat. And then he told his disciples, he's like, straight up told his disciples, like, I have food you don't know of. Like, straight up told him that. He's saying, I fill my plate up with some things you don't know about. And he goes on and says, It's the will of the Father. It's the Father's will that I that's comes, it's my food to do his will. And the same thing should happen to us, like I'm trying to say right now. Devote yourself, you know, commit yourself to him. You're gonna start guarding what goes on your plate. It's very important, like I said, guard your heart. And like I said, you're it says it in the word Proverbs, guard your heart because it determines the course of your life. Telling you that right now, what you intake is going to literally determine the course of your life. The actions, the feelings you have, the if you're gonna overcome temptation or not, uh, addictions, whatever it could be, living a lifestyle of victory. If you don't guard your plate, your heart, you know, you're not gonna see the fruit that you know you should be seeing. I'm telling you. So guard your fruit. I mean, guard your plate, guard your fruit, whatever you want to say. Just make just be devoted to Jesus. Commit your life to Jesus. Commit your life to this spiritual diet you're supposed to have right now. Read the word, pray, worship, whatever it could be. Sit at the feet of Jesus. I'm telling you, discipline yourself. And your cravings are gonna change spiritually. Your cravings are gonna change. They really are. You're gonna start desiring to the things of heaven. You're gonna start desiring the things of Jesus. You're not, it's not gonna be hard for you no more. It's not gonna be like, oh, it's hard for me to go to the gym. But now some people are like, I love going to the gym every day. Beginning, it could have been hard for you. Beginning it could have been like, uh shit, uh, I don't know. Now it's just a lifestyle for you. You be why? Because you start being consistent with it like that. People always say the gym, die, whatever it could be. If you're not consistent, it's hard. But more importantly, like I say, if you don't guard what's on your plate, that consistency will die. You know, that the consistency will die and stuff like that. You won't be consistent anymore if you don't guard what's on your plate. So anyway, be devoted to Jesus, commit your life to him daily, not just today, not just when you go to midweek service or something. Commit your life daily to him. Devote your life to him. And when the enemy comes and says, Hey, let me put this on your plate, and turn these stones into bread, you know, let me put this on your plate, you're gonna be quick to respond with the word of God. You're gonna be quick to respond to what you've been intaking on your plate, quick to do that. And the last one, uh, just it's rest. Rest in Jesus. You know, it's pretty simple. Uh, that one's very important though. When you look up anything about a diet, if you don't get the proper rest in your life, um, even going to the gym, whatever it could be, your diet or not, it can affect your body tremendously. You can read there's people, uh, me, we know that like we'd be like, Man, I went to the doctor and they told me I have high blood pressure, I'm gaining this weight so fast. And they would tell them the doctor be like, you you probably don't have great hours of sleep. You know, we heard about that. Truck drivers, you know, all these things, they don't have a great life because they eat horrible fruit, but the more importantly, they don't have a crazy work, I mean, sleep schedule. A truck driver does. But what I'm trying to say too is rest in him. Rest in Jesus. Rest in him. Like you can look it up yourself. There's so many great factors of physically a rest does for your diet. But the same thing goes for us. Our rest in him will help us with our diet with him, our lifestyle with him. Rest in Jesus. Don't rest in the enemy, don't rest in the lies of the enemy, don't rest in your feelings, don't rest in you know, whatever these things the enemy wants to throw at you. Rest in Jesus. The best famous verse for that, I believe, is Matthew 11, 28. We know that one. Come all to me who are weary, you know. I'll give you rest. He wants to give it to you. You don't got to work for it. He literally, I'll give you rest straight up. Just come to me. Come to me. I'll give you rest. So rest in him, rest in Jesus. I'm telling you, what are you gonna fill your plate up when you walk out of this place? What are you filling your plate up? What does your plate look like? I'm telling you right now, ask yourself that right now. What does your plate look like? So rest in him. Go sit, go sit with him, go be with him, rest with Jesus. If you're heavy, you know, all these things can happen. Uh you can grow tired. I mean, that's that's to be honest, that's something you know, we joke about a lot, but it's the truth. When you go eat something that's really bad for you, dude, bro, you get drained. You get tired, your eyes get heavy. You go eat that golden crowd buffet, you go eat that, you know, some China buffet or something. Seriously, you get tired. You're like, bro, I'm sleepy. Telling you, what you intake affects you. You see what I'm saying? You get heavy. That's why Jesus says it. Hey, all those who are heavy, come on, who are weary. What you intake is gonna either weigh you down or it's gonna give you rest. You're gonna have peace, you're gonna have joy, you're not gonna be stressed, you're gonna have rest. What you intake in you, you're gonna have rest. Or what you intake, you're gonna grow weary, you're gonna get tired. So, anyway, stand up. Let's just stand up. Thank you, Jesus. Oh, like I said, I just pray this can encourage you. Uh, I pray it can stir you up maybe to live a different lifestyle that truly can help you stay hungry for him, but also intake the right things, you know, maintain your hunger for him. Uh close your eyes. Just close your eyes real quick. Like I say, right now, close your eyes and just check your heart and say, God, what does my plate look like? What does my plate look like? This is between you and him. What is my plate looking like on a daily basis, God? Monday, Tuesday, what is it? Come on what come on, what what's going on here? Oh, come on. What does my plate look like? I'm telling you, like I said, guard guard that plate with everything you have. Be devoted to Jesus. Guard it. Jesus, we love you. Oh, Jesus, we love you. Come on. I pray, God, that you just stir us up right now to live a lifestyle that intakes only you. A lifestyle that truly only feasts on you. I'm telling you, Jesus calls himself what the bread of life. We are called to intake, we're called to eat. We are called to literally feast on something. We're called to literally intake and have something to eat us, fill us. He's called the bread of life. What is on your plate? I'm telling you, Satan tried his hardest to fill the plate of Jesus with these nonsense things and saying, turn these stones to bread. It wasn't the will of God. He's trying to fill your plate up with things that's not the will of God. Relationships, uh, jobs, or whatever it could be things that. Aren't the will of God? He's trying to fill it up. Lies. What is your plate filled with? And are you able to look at him and say, I only desire what the Father has for me. My bread is Him. Come on. Come on. Have you been feasting on the bread of Jesus? You've been feasting on His body. So, Jesus, I pray right now we just feast on you, Jesus. I pray everybody in this room will fill their plate up with the bread of life. I pray we fill our bread up with the bread of life. And I pray that all of us, including myself, we will stay disciplined, that we will be consistent with what we intake in you, Jesus. So we just thank you so much, God. We thank you, Lord. Let us live a lifestyle that brings you glory. Let us live a lifestyle that brings fame to your name, Jesus. Yeah, come on. Come on. Let us prepare even our hearts now. Let us prepare our hearts now. Let us be intentional about it. It's hard to stay on a diet and not be intentional about it. It's hard. It's very hard. Let us be intentional about you, Jesus.
unknownThank you, Jesus.
SPEAKER_00So anyway, Jesus, we love you. You're amazing. We're so thankful for you and all that you do for us. And like I said, let us just have a lifestyle like this. Let our diet change in a good way for you, Jesus, spiritually. Let us feast on the bread of life. Let us feast on the will of God to what you have for us. And let us overcome temptations of the enemy. In Jesus' name, amen. Anyway, we're just so thankful for y'all. Y'all are amazing. Thank you for just once again coming here and being in the body. Um I hope today you were doing prayer, worship, whatever it is. I hope you were encouraged today. And as you, oh nice. And as you go out in this place, fill your plate up. Fill your plate up with the good things, with you know, things that won't grow you weary. Nah, but anyway, we love y'all. Anyway, Jesus' name.
